Torpedo7 Sponsor Events Programme

Hillary Outdoors is delighted to announce that Torpedo7 are now sponsoring our Events Programme and we look forward to embarking on our exciting line up for 2018 with them on board to grow our Events even further. More than 25,000 young people have participated in all our Events programmes since their inception in 2001 and we feel that there is great potential to involve even more schools and students in future. Our partnership with Torpedo7 will help spread the word further and wider as they support Hillary Outdoors with  fundraising initiatives in stores and online.

Since 2015, Torpedo7 customers have had the opportunity to donate at the checkout of any Torpedo7 store or when purchasing gear online Over the past couple of years Torpedo7 has held fundraising promotions for a limited duration at various intervals –  from next year this fundraising activity will be on-going.

Hillary Outdoors has a well-established programme of Events that includes the Hillary Challenge and Get2Go, involving over 2500 secondary school students in multi-sport challenges each year. Both series include some regional qualifying races and then an annual final held at our Tongariro Centre (Hillary Challenge) and Great Barrier Island Centre (Get2Go). Our Events encourage participation from all different levels of experience and ages, so that the team based challenges offer something for everyone; regardless of their year group or whether the goal is to qualify for a Final.

At the outset of our partnership, Hillary Outdoors and Torpedo7 recognised a mutual goal of providing more young New Zealanders with opportunities to experience the outdoors in meaningful way means. Torpedo7’s support of our Events Programme is a natural progression of our partnership into further ways that we can collectively make a difference to young people and their communities.

So, a big thanks to Torpedo7. Please show your support of Torpedo7’s community initiatives by shopping for your range of outdoor merchandise in store or online today.
