Who is an Adventure Weekend For?
These courses are for people who are ready for a challenge and an adrenaline rush. You don’t need to be actively involved in sports or the outdoors, but it does help if you have a moderate level of fitness, a positive attitude and a willingness to have a go.
What will I do on an Adventure Weekend?
You will be introduced to a variety of outdoor activities. These could include kayaking, tramping, caving, rock-climbing, abseiling, high ropes, orienteering and canoeing; far too many options to fit into the programme! The actual activities will be dependent on the weather and the groups’ abilities. This course has an instructor participant ratio of 1:10 and where possible your group will be given a chance to choose what activities they want to do. However when choices are made they will be based on a majority decision and the group as a whole will need to stay together. Please remember that Hillary Outdoors is not able to supply extra instructors in the case of a split decision where the group want to do different activities at the same time. All activities are facilitated by instructors with extensive training and experience, and they ensure the weekend fills participants with confidence and vitality.
After a full day of action and excitement, the evenings are a time to relax in one of Hillary Outdoors’ fully catered facilities, with all the good comforts – including good company.
What are the benefits of an Adventure Weekend?
During the programme your Hillary Outdoors instructor and your team will provide support for you to face fears and give new activities a go. You will develop confidence in your own abilities and team building skills that you can take away with you at the end of the programme and transfer to your home or work situation.
