Get away, keep busy during school holidays

Looking for a fun, action-packed challenge in the great outdoors during the holidays for 14 -18 year olds? Hillary Outdoors runs two different holiday programmes with a different focus depending on age and level of challenge required.

The Holiday Action Challenge is a 5-day programme where the emphasis is on teamwork and fun. It is ideally suited to anyone 14-18 years old that is attending a Hillary Outdoors Centre for the first time. The Hillary Leadership Programme is a 7-day more challenging programme, better suited to 16-18 year olds. This is the ideal course for prefects, sports captains, school council members and students entering the workforce as the course uses the outdoors as a medium for exploring leadership theory, skills and related issues. The programme culminates with a double overnight expedition. Either of these programmes meet the requirements for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary Award Gold Residential programme.

You’ll visit some amazing places, meet new people, and have a great time doing it! With both programmes, you don’t need to be into sport or the outdoors, the main thing you need is a willingness to “have a go”. The programme does involve physical activity each day so a moderate fitness level will help you make the most of the programme.
