Give international students the experience of a lifetime
Hillary Outdoors has been a leading provider of outdoor education programmes for over 40 years, following the philosophy: Contributing positively to the life journey of young people, in the spirit of Sir Edmund Hillary, through adventure and rich outdoor learning experiences that develop care and respect for self, others and place. There are two centres, a Tongariro Centre and a Great Barrier Island Centre.
Our centre locations are so special and remote, that many visitors do not venture this far off the beaten track. For international students, attending one of our programmes can be the difference between seeing and experiencing things they otherwise wouldn’t.
Activities that students undertake in Hillary Outdoors programmes can include abseiling, flying fox, kayaking, high ropes, raft building and bush walking to name a few. Most students also get the opportunity to do an overnight stay in the outdoors which will be a very memorable part of their time with us, as they build their leadership and teamwork skills.
This experience will be a great introduction should they decide to pursue tertiary studies to train as an outdoor instructor (we also offer tertiary programmes).
Include our programme in you international student itineraries
Every group has different needs, we cater for that by working with you to customise a programme to match your requirements. A programme at either of the Hillary Outdoors Centres, will provide international students with experiences that will stay with them much longer than their stay in New Zealand. Partnering with Hillary Outdoors means you can rely on our expertise to ensure your students experience some of the New Zealand they were hoping for, in a safe and supportive environment.
