Competing in the Coast to Coast? This course is for you!
This 2-day kayaking course is for athletes competing in the Coast to Coast who need to gain their Grade 2 Kayak Certificate. Athletes should be competent in paddling and self-rescuing on grade 2 rivers.
A Grade 2 Kayak Certificate is a qualification received that demonstrates you have the knowledge and skillset to kayak a Grade 2 River safely and independently. The certificate is only issued when qualified and endorsed instructors are satisfied that your skillset meets the Grade 2 requirements. Completing a Grade 2 course does not guarantee that you will meet the Grade 2 Qualification requirements.
Day One
Athletes can practice and gain feedback on their paddling, self-rescues, rapid selection etc.
Day two
Athletes will work through the grade 2 sign-off.
This course is held at our Tongariro Centre, Central North Island.
What’s included?
- 2-day course
- Electronic certificate on completion of the course.
- Meals and accommodation from Saturday breakfast to Sunday lunch (Yes, we can cater to most dietary requirements)
- Safety Management System – including use of kayaks and safety equipment.
Participants must be aged 18+ years to enrol in these courses.
