We are currently recruiting for a Programme Operations Manager for our new Coromandel centre, as well as experienced instructors for both the Tongariro and Coromandel centres. There are often opportunities to volunteer or intern with us as well.

Hillary Outdoors is pleased to be inviting applications for the Programme Operations Manager position at the new Coromandel Centre based in Port Charles.

This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient and safe operations of the Centre’s programmes, delivering high-quality outdoor education aligned with organisational standards and client objectives.

The role is unique in that the Programme Operations Manager will commence before the Centre opens in January 2025, and isinvolved the initial setup of programme safety, training instructors, and getting the programme operations set up for success.

This role is equally divided between responsibilities as a Programme Operations Manager and a Senior Instructor. It necessitates NZOIA qualifications and significant experience, involving stepping in as a backup during staff absences and acting as the Senior Instructor for specific groups.

We are seeking skilled Outdoor Education Instructors to join our Tongariro and Coromandel teams. Our Instructors are our core delivery team at the centres and serve as role models to the rangatahi of Aotearoa who participate in the life changing experiences we offer at Hillary Outdoors. You would be responsible for delivering high-quality secondary school programmes through a variety of activities based on the clients required outcomes.
The successful candidates will manage regular programming with minimal supervision, while also actively supporting and mentoring Developing Instructors.

Please note, to volunteer with us you must be over 18 years old, generally commit to a minimum of one month, overseas volunteers must have a valid work visa for NZ as well as medical and travel insurance.
