Explorer – Tongariro

Join other tweens for a multi-pursuit adventure camp that’s all about having fun, meeting new people, building confidence, learning new skills and expanding your comfort zone in a safe and supported environment. Sign up solo (most do!) or get a friend to join you. 

From day one, you’ll help shape the week with your team and instructor. There is no set schedule; activities are tailored to your goals, interests, and the weather. 

You’ll build confidence through outdoor day trips, then put your new skills to the test on a long day journey. This might be your first time reading a map, hiking, or paddling. You’ll cook outdoors, stargaze, play games, and share stories. It’s an unforgettable way to connect with nature, others, and yourself. 

Come ready for adventure and leave with memories, friendships, and confidence that will last a lifetime.

Who is this for? Ages 11-12

Enrolment: Students interested in joining this holiday programme will need to request a mentor from their community to fill out the referee form. For more information, click on the ‘Referee form & info’ button.

Cost breakdown
$1,125  – That’s $375  per day, including:
