Explorer Camp- Tongariro
Ready for an unforgettable school holiday? Our 4-day Explorer Camp is a residential adventure for 11 and 12-year-olds who want to try new things, meet great people, and grow their confidence in a supportive, fun environment.
Come on your own (most do!) or bring a friend—either way, you’ll quickly feel part of the group. From the very first day, you and your group will help shape the week alongside your instructor. There’s no fixed schedule, so activities flex around your interests, goals, and even the weather.
You’ll build skills and confidence through a mix of outdoor day trips, immersive experiences, and group challenges. Whether it’s your first time navigating with a map, hiking, or paddling, you’ll learn by doing and be supported every step of the way.
Along the way, you’ll stargaze, play games, and share stories around camp. It’s a chance to connect with nature, new friends, and yourself.

Cost breakdown
$1,358 – That’s $339.50 per day, including:
- 7 hours of adventure daily
- 4 nights’ accommodation
- 24/7 pastoral care and support
- Nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners (from arrival to departure)

Participants can either leave their phones at home or store them away safely on the arrival night, and collect
them on departure day so they can be fully engaged in their programme.
