Explorer Camp- Tongariro
Ready for an unforgettable school holiday adventure? Our 5-day Explorer Camp is a residential outdoor experience for 11 and 12-year-olds who want to try new things, meet great people, and grow their confidence in a fun, supportive environment.
Come on your own (most do!) or bring a friend—either way, you’ll quickly feel part of the group and ready to jump into the adventure.
What to Expect
From day one, you’ll help shape your camp experience alongside your group and instructor. There’s no fixed schedule, so your activities can flex around your interests, goals, and even the weather.
During your 4 days, you’ll enjoy:
- Hands-on learning where you build skills by doing
- Fun group challenges and team activities
- Evening games, stargazing, and shared camp moments
- Plenty of time to connect with nature and make new friends
- A mix of outdoor activities and day adventures, including:

them on departure day so they can be fully engaged in their programme.
